Cox Communications, New Orleans, Louisiana,
a leader in the Cable Television industry award winning team of professionals at the studio set up and broadcast a live performance of the Louisiana Jukebox each week. For two years in a row the Cox Communications Production Team has received the prestigious Cable ACE award for the best in local programming. This year the team competed against hundreds of cable companies for another ACE award in the category of entertainment. To face such competition and emerge the winner is indeed the pinnacle of

Steve Nicholson is one of the camera operators.
Before the show, each camera must be checked and balanced to provide even
color and imaging while switching between shots.

Here we see Steve at work during a sound check with one of the bands.
A sound check is done for each performer before the
show. Since the show is cablecast live, sound checks are necessary for
each band so camera, lighting, and sound settings can be determined. Once
the show goes live the crew has only four minutes to set up the next band
and make all necessary changes. Viewers at home watch a couple of commercials
while this change takes place.
There is no room for errors here!
